How is your week going? I’ve been having a busy week because there’s a new puppy in the family! He’s a golden retriever, and so far, he’s the sweetest and most intelligent dog I’ve ever met 😭💖

🐶 Meet Llamp! (it means lighting in Catalan)

So, that’s been the perfect excuse to draw him as much as possible. Even though I’ve drawn several dog breeds before, drawing the same one in totally different poses can be quite tricky. I had some trouble with the ears and face shape until I figured out that a more squared face suited the idea I had in mind better.

When you look at photos, you might tend to copy what you see, and translating that into your own style can be quite difficult. So having a puppy that I can actually observe and analyze every day has been a great learning experience. I was able to make my drawings more fluid much sooner than I would have if I had only been using pictures.

✿ My Japanese learning journey

Starting in September, I will begin using Genki II, but since I wanted to keep reading texts at my level, I’ve already started using the book. At the back, there’s a section with kanji and texts, which has always been my favorite part of these books. So, I’m reading the texts from it, even though they are a bit difficult.

I’m really eager to start learning for the N4, although I’m aware it’s going to be challenging. However, now that I see how much I’ve improved when I truly focus, I’m feeling really motivated! :)
