Hiii~!

Hope you are doing great ♥ It feels like a lot has passed since the start of the year, but I haven't had barely enough time for drawing. My plan to make reels in advance is working really well though, actually it's quite freeing~ I have one day to draw and another to record and edit 3-4 drawings, so I can stay a whole week ahead.

So what am I using all this new free time for?! Youtube scripts! This year I really want to give it a try, but first I had to figure out what I actually wanted to film. I need to feel comfortable enough to keep doing it without getting frustrated or too nervous every time I turn on the camera. And after what felt too long, I think I have a nice format. It wouldn't be tutorials, but I will show how I work and make illustrations.

And now for the drawings I did have time to do! Getting back to using a Midori sketchbook is so wholesome, I just love the paper so much. Although the plastic sheet I used to put behind the pages to avoid bleeding needs to change. Since Midori's pages are super thin, the plastic sheet doesn't absorb the exceeding ink, making the bleeding way worse. So I will start using cardboard instead.

✿ My Japanese learning journey

Finally! I've started taking conversation lessons on Italki!! And it feeeeels aaaawwwfull ahhahhaha it's weird because every time I finish a class there's this weird mix of emotions: disappointment, cringe, but a looot of happiness!

I've done 3 classes, just 30 minutes talking with a teacher about random stuff. The first class was ridiculously bad. I was so nervous that I could barely say anything. The second I was still nervous, but by the third it went away, and although I didn't improve, words came up easier.

I've noticed a lot of simple grammar points that I really need to hammer down, so between classes I try to practice them so I can use them more comfortably. And although I make a loooot of mistakes, the teacher is super kind and actually quite nice to talk with~

Should I have started outputting sooner? I don't think so. The speaking part is hard, but at least I can understand the teacher comfortably without needing any kind of translation. 頑張ろう！
