Hii!
How has your week been so far? Tuesday it rained quite a lot; it was a nice storm. I quite like them, so I took the chance to go outside, sit under the porch, and read while it lasted. The change in the weather was very welcome!

However, yesterday I wasn’t that lucky and got completely soaked. To be honest, it was so much fun! And it’s nothing a nice, warm shower can’t fix.

This week, I drew a bunch of animals because I wanted to create a reel called “Choose Your Perfect Pet” sort of. Some of them, like the axolotl and chameleon, were ones I’d never drawn before, so it took me a while to get their shapes right.

Usually, I don’t really like to draw animals 100% accurately. I always try to impose my own style so that all of them look cohesive. However, when drawing things I’m not used to, it can be quite tricky. Of course, I had to reference most of them to make sure they were accurate enough to be recognized!

✿ My Japanese learning journey

This week, I realized that I had gone up a level! Yesterday, I read an N5 preparation book that I’ve had for a long time, and for the first time, I understood almost 100% of what it said without much effort. I’m so happy to finally see some actual results! Before that, those texts were kind of tricky, and the first time I got them, I had no clue what they said.

In these last two weeks before September, I want to go through all the N5 books I have at home, just to make sure there aren’t any new grammar points or vocabulary that I missed from the Genki series. I’m going pretty quickly since I don’t really need to study~

Can I recommend them? Well… none of them are perfect for self-study. As for Try N5, it doesn’t really add anything if you already have Genki.

The other three are purely for studying the JLPT, although the green one has decent grammar and vocabulary. But to be honest, I haven’t found a truly good book for the N5 level. Maybe it’s different for higher levels. I hope so!
