The weather has been amazing around here, and I've taken several of my plants outside to help them adapt to the climate. I'm excited to go to the plant shop again! ♥

This time, I'm looking for plants that are more resistant to low humidity levels. Do you happen to know of any plants that might thrive in these conditions? My Peperomia raindrop and Aglaonemas have been doing exceptionally well, but it would be nice to find other plants that work just as well.

✿ Q&A Part 2. Finding my art style.

How did my style develop?

Drawing has been my hobby for as long as I can remember, and I've never really been concerned with developing a specific style. As long as my work looked decent and cute, I was happy. Manga and anime have always been huge influences on my drawings. However, when I created my Instagram account in 2015, I made the decision to move away from my manga style and start from scratch.

At that time, I began following new illustrators with styles I had never seen before like Frannerd, Iraville, Heikala, and Koyamori. Which made a big impact on me, especially in terms of their use of color. It was hard not to rely on my manga style as a reference, so I tried to mimic the styles of these new artists.

Gradually, I began making changes to suit my own taste and the themes I wanted to draw. I never wanted to be a copycat of any other illustrator, so my main focus was to start feeling comfortable with this new style and give it my own personal touch until it felt completely mine. It took a while, but with practice and perseverance, I eventually made it work.

My Instagram evolution

Growing a decent amount of followers on Instagram was quite a challenge. At that time (2015), I had no intention of pursuing a career as an illustrator. My focus was on completing my studies in Graphic Design and finding work in a design studio. However, I continued to draw because I found it enjoyable.
Once the account started to grow, I got stuck at 2k followers for quite some time, and going from 2k to 10k was a veeeeeery slow, gradual process.

The first time I felt that it could become a side project was when one of my pictures went "viral". I went from 200 likes to 20k in just a couple of days, and from that point on, my following grew slowly but steadily. To be honest, perseverance was the key, I never stop drawing and posting longer than 2 weeks.

My current style

I am still developing my style, especially when it comes to drawing people. I find it hard to describe what makes my style my style, but there are certain things that I like to draw in a particular way that feels natural to me. One conscious decision I made was to change my lineart and stop using dark blue pencil color. It looked too harsh, and I wanted to achieve a softer look in my work.

I am sure that my style will continue to evolve, but I don't have a clear guideline of what I want to become. For me, it has always been more about improving my skills. Currently, I am focusing on drawing more people and getting back into watercolors. Beyond that, I have no idea where my journey will take me.
